Brent Maxwell
Rugby, Hockey, Football
2009

Like most kids, Brent Maxwell has played a number of different sports, including hockey, football, baseball, rugby, golf and soccer.

While playing minor hockey for the South Stormont Selects organization, he routinely played at a higher age bracket. He continued to play hockey through high school, where St. Joe's represented SD&G at EOSSA, losing in the semi-finals.

At St. Joe's, Brent was introduced to high school football, and excelled immediately, being awarded the Rookie of the Year. In his final two years, he was named as a team captain, and this year won the Barry Smith Memorial Award , given by the Panthers and the SD&G football league.

He also played rugby all five years of high school, and was named team captain his first year. He responded by being voted top forward and team MVP.

In grade 10, he moved up and played for the senior Panthers, where he earned Rookie of the Year honours. In grades 11 and 12, besides being chosen as captain, Brent was named top forward and team MVP both years. This past year, St. Joe's went all the way to the EOSSA final.
