Clayton "Oscar" Ouderkirk

Oscar Ouderkirk coached his first fastball team in 1960 - the Ingleside Tinnies Juniors, and his last baseball team in 1993 - the Osnabruck Centre Juniors. In the years between, he coached or managed fastball teams from Squirt To Junior. In 1990 he worked to bring baseball and Little League to Osnabruck Township.

Through the 1970's, he was the backbone of sports and recreation in Osnabruck Centre and Ingleside. He served as president and vice-president of the Osnabruck Township Minor Hockey Association. He was instrumental in building a new ball field in Osnabruck Centre, and served as president of the Osnabruck Minor Softball League.

As a member of the Osnabruck Recreation Association, he played an important role in maintaining the outdoor rink in Osnabruck Centre, and was involved in fundraising, and planning community events like winter carnivals and snowmobile rallies.

In 1977 he was awarded the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal for his many years of service to the community.
