Sean starred at St. Joe's High School where he lead the league in scoring for three consectutive years, averaging 35 points per game.
After high school, he played in the Eastern Ontario League out of Ottawa, and then became a member of the X-Men at St. Francis Xavier University where he was a member of the CIAU National Championship team in 1992/93
