Ty Celone

Golf

2016

Ty is a student at St Joseph's Catholic Secondary High School. He was club champion at Upper Canada Golf Course in 2014 and 2015.

 

Ty qualified for the MCB Masters Pro-Am in Curacao in early April by finishing among the top three in the Canadian Junior Golf Association order of merit program, where points are accumulated at CJGA tournaments.  Out of 610 golfers, ages 15 to 19, Ty finished first. Ty won first place low amateur, longest drive and closest to the pin at the Curacao tournament.

 

Ty is a member of "Team Ontario". This is a developmental program of Golf Ontario and consists of 7 elite boys in the province that train year round in Florida, Myrtle Beach and Toronto.

 

Early in June Ty qualified for the Canadian jr boys championships in St. Johns Newfoundland to held in August. He qualified by finishing fourth in a field of 90 golfers at the CN Future Links Ontario jr boys championship in Midland, Ontario.

 

Ty is working towards a bigger goal of going pro. His next step is getting a scholarship to attend a division one school in the USA.
